Capel Celyn was a small Welsh village that was lost beneath the waters of the Tryweryn reservoir in 1965, despite fierce opposition from the people of Wales. Its flooding became a symbol of Welsh identity, resilience and the determination to protect our heritage. We chose Capel Celyn as the name for our fictional Welsh lager as a tribute to a community that should never be forgotten. The beer may be imaginary, but the history behind the name is very real.
